Arizona seems like it could be an ideal winter break vacation destination — except when the trip involves a four-hour bus ride in a snow and wind storm.

But then again, the trip for the four Cocheco Arts and Technology Academy students was never meant to be typical. Sure, they spent a day sightseeing at the Grand Canyon, but that was mixed in with days fixing roads on a Navajo reservation and herding sheep on Black Mesa.
