At Cocheco Academy of The Arts, we believe that an effective education doesn’t just come from memorizing or lecturing. Active participation in the learning process entails analyzing, discussing and collaborating - in order to comprehend and retain. All of our courses are designed to encourage deep mental processing and student engagement with the class material.
Get Involved in Our Community
Volunteering is an integral part of the CATA culture. Each student is responsible for performing volunteer activities both inside and outside of the CATA community. All CATA students must complete 15 hours of community service each school year. These hours can be split between community service and community outreach.
Extended Learning Opportunities
Extended Learning Opportunities come in many forms including Chamber Ensemble and Arts Outreach which are offered after our regular school hours. Students in good academic standing may also complete ELO's in foreign language, mathematics, science and other academic and artistic areas.
CATA students in good standing have access to a number of clubs that meet both during and after school including Student Government, Recruitment Club, Fundraising Club, Dance Committee, Yearbook, and Dungeons & Dragons. Students also have the opportunity to design clubs that are open to all.
