Eric Turner is an active performer, composer and music educator. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of New Hampshire and graduated cum laude. Eric’s teaching philosophy is that music is experiential and can be presented in various forms to address multiple learning styles and inspire students. Courses that Eric has taught and directed include: orchestra, jazz and rock band, recording technology, music theory, world drumming, advanced chamber ensemble, keyboarding, as well as private and group guitar, bass and jazz improvisation lessons. Eric was featured on New Hampshire Chronicle in 2016 for his private instruction. His performance background is equally diverse; from jazz guitar to playing rock bass, he has found himself in a variety of settings.
Eric currently performs with Duty Free, Red Tail Hawk, his jazz trio The Brethren, and as a freelance musician. In 2006, Duty Free was selected as a National Battle of The Bands winner and awarded an opening slot at AmsterJam 2006. The concert’s headliners were Tom Petty and The Foo Fighters. Several of Eric’s recordings and compositions have been featured on The River 92.5. In his free time, Eric enjoys being active, supporting local music, gardening, and is an avid fan of the New England Patriots.
